HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY BOX TO ARRIVE?
The Great Value Travel Boxes and Travel Box Sets are usually available in stock and will take 14 – 21 working days to be delivered (unforseen circumstances such as severe weather may delay delivery further). If delivery is required urgently, please contact us directly and we can try to arrange an alternative method of delivery (a small additional charge may be incurred). Hand Made Travel Boxes and Storage Boxes (unless ‘No Preference’ or ‘it’s urgent, something neutral’ is selected in the design choice) can take up to 28 days to be delivered depending in the design and size of box ordered. We will always try to help with urgent orders – and we don’t add an Express Charge.
WILL MY DRESS FIT INTO THE BOX?
Unfortunately we cannot see your dress, but we can advise which box is most suited to a style of dress (please email for help). Most brides, however, are surprised at how small a dress can be folded to fit into a box, as they often have ‘hoops’ and underskirts are always ‘fluffed’ to add volume to the dress when being worn. Once hoops have been removed and net layers have been separated and smoothed down the dress can be compacted very well for packing. This will not damage the dress in any way but ensure that it is stored correctly in the box. In the case of Travel Boxes, we are providing a box which is the correct size for the overhead luggage allowance. It is very rare that a dress will not fold down small enough to fit inside.
SHOULD I BUY EXTRA TISSUE PAPER TO PACK MY DRESS?
Sufficient acid free tissue paper, to minimise creasing, is always supplied with a box. Extra sheets can be purchased from our Packing Solutions section if required for packing accessories with your dress, if your dress is heavily beaded or if you wish to use fresh tissue to re-pack your dress after a period of storage or after travel.
SURELY IF I PACK MY DRESS IN A SMALL SUITCASE, I WILL HAVE THAT CASE TO TAKE OVERSEAS WITH ME ON MY NEXT TRIP – WHY IS IT BETTER TO BUY A BOX?
Of course a cabin case can be used again for your holidays for many years to come, however all our Travel Boxes are pH neutral making them suitable for the safe, long term storage of your dress after dry cleaning. This is a ‘role’ your cabin case cannot play.
WHAT ABOUT WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS FOR HAND LUGGAGE
Most airlines have a weight restriction on hand luggage, some are more generous than others. Our travel boxes, as well as offering the maximum packing space for the dimensions allowed onboard (there are no wasted areas for wheels, separate packing pockets or trolley struts as with a cabin suitcase) are sturdy but weigh no more than the average cabin suitcases available to buy today.
I DON’T LIVE ON THE UK MAINLAND, CAN I STILL ORDER A BOX?
It is possible for us to send boxes to Eire, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scottish islands and overseas. Delivery charges will vary depending on destination, so please contact us directly before placing an order and we will advise you on additional costs and delivery times.
I CAN’T SEE A DESIGN THAT I LIKE ON THE DESIGN PAGE
Don’t worry, there are many more designs/colours we can offer. Just select ’email more choices’ when placing your order, or send us an email before placing your order and we can send you more swatches to make your choice.
MIGHT MY TRAVEL BOX BE REFUSED ONBOARD?
All airlines reserve the right to refuse anything onboard during busy times, whether it is a wedding dress travel box, a small cabin case or even a backpack. We always suggest trying to be at the front of the check-in queue to ensure this does not happen. Some airlines, such as EasyJet offer a ‘speedy check-in’ service (a small charge applies) which means you are less likely to have your cabin baggage refused.
